Free App Friday: Games, Games, Games!

Since this week is GDC, we thought that we'd do something a little more topical with today's Free App Friday. Whether you like two-dimensional RPG-style games, simple casual games on the iOS or engaging platformers, this year's GDC was chock full of FREE awesome titles. Check 'em out, play 'em, tell your friends, and maybe even get a little behind on your work because there are too many wonderful games to play.

Actually, don't do that last part.

Mac

Desktop Dungeons

If you were a huge fan of Gauntlet Legends back in the day, Desktop Dungeons is sure to satiate your desire for top-down RPG-like puzzle games. Desktop Dungeons features an extensive character unlock system and it takes about ten minutes to play through each level--a fun game to engage in during a break at work and then pick up later. The game was awarded with an Excellence in Design Award at IGF awards at GDC, and an Alpha version is currently available on the site.

iPad

Paper Toss

We know that you know about Paper Toss because it's been on your iPad or iPhone since you brought home your device. It's a fairly addictive game, but that's not why we featured it. If you read up on our site earlier today, the developers of the game announced at GDC that they're coming out with an Army of Darkness platformer for iOS in the near future. This is definitely something we look forward

iPhone

Thief Lupin

Thief Lupin must sneak into the world's most famous buildings so that he might take the honor as King of Thief. This simple, one-button game requires you to guide Thief Lupin through various stages, including the Empire State Building and the Egyptian Pyramids. There's 300 different stages and four different characters you can play, giving this free game plenty of depth.
