We guess it didn't take too long for e-book manufacturers to realize that having good hardware is one thing, but having better software is a totally different ball game altogether. At least Kobo has come to that sooner rather than later, rolling out in what is an industry first, a social eReading experience under the guise of Reading Life. This allows readers to track their personal reading history, check-in with characters and places within books and earn achievements and awards for simply reading. Not only that, you can also choose to share books, favorite passages, awards among others with your friends on Facebook. Out for the iPad, it will come as part of the latest iPad update in the iTunes store now. Hmmm, even having the number of books you have read shown off to all and sundry is considered as bragging rights these days?
