iPhone Appidemic: Snowing Words

Snowing WordsSnow sucks.

It’s all wet and cold and makes going anywhere a pain in the butt. That said, if snowflakes were to contain games within themselves, I think we’d have a lot more happier people come winter. Really, think about it. Snowflakes make a habit of falling into our lives, but they don’t really do anything fun on their way down. With Snowing Words, that all changes.

What is it?

Snowing Words is a word game that involves unscrambling letters to make words. Different difficulty settings lead to longer words and/or faster snowflakes. Simply tap the snowflake you want to use and then unscramble its letters to make it disappear.

How does it work?

Snowing Words has exactly what you might think—snowflakes falling with letters on them. As the snowflakes fall, the user taps it to make it the current challenge.

By dragging the letters around at the bottom of the screen, users must create a word to solve that snowflake. Once they do, they tap a check mark and the snowflake is gone.

Is it contagious?

If you’re really into word games, it could certainly be addictive. The game is presented in a way such that the falling snowflakes are an element of a countdown rather than a big ugly clock staring you in the face. Furthermore, the graphics are done really well, too.
